Resolution 1. DTD for semi-graphical forms

CJK DOCP instructs Mr. R. Jelliffe to develop a new text of "CJK Recommendation on model/DTD for semi-graphical forms (table, list, equation, etc.)", making his document (CJK-DOCP/97-14) more generic.

Resolution 2. Inter-linear texts

CJK DOCP recognizes the importance of inter-linear texts and instructs all the members to provide their requirements and examples (see CJK-DOCP/97-26) to the next meeting.
CJK DOCP creates a new project of inter-linear text and appoints Dr. C. Wittern and Prof. E. Matsuoka as project editors.

Resolution 3. CJK multilingual linguistic markup

CJK DOCP accepts the document CJK-DOCP/97-9 as a CJK Recommendation on multilingual linguistic markup and instructs the editor to submit it to the Chair. in an electronic form.

Resolution 4. Markup for CJK multimedia documents

CJK DOCP authorizes the TEI approach to representation of multimedia documents and instructs Prof. J. Lehman to complete the text of "CJK Recommendation on markup for CJK multimedia documents".

Resolution 5. Liaison to/from PNC

CJK DOCP appoints Prof. L. Lancaster as a liaison representative to/from PNC.

Resolution 6. General character processing model

CJK DOCP accepts the model proposed in 2. and 3. of CJK-DOCP/97-16 as a CJK general character processing model and instructs Mr. Y. Okui to draft a text of "CJK Recommendation on general character model".

Resolution 7. New scheme of character treatment

CJK DOCP appreciates the Dr. C. Wittern's proposal in the agenda item 8.4 and instructs him to draft new text of the scheme in the form of CJK Recommendation.

Resolution 8. CJK DOCP home page

CJK DOCP accepts the proposal of CJK-DOCP/97-13 and instructs Dr. Y. Komachi to establish a CJK DOCP home page according to his plan. CJK DOCP instructs editors to submit their documents to him in an electronic form.

Resolution 9. BUCS

CJK DOCP appreciates the report of BUCS and instructs Prof. E. Matsuoka to provide a full list of BUCS in the next meeting.

Resolution 10. Character/glyph treatment

CJK DOCP accepts the character/glyph treatments proposed by CJK-DOCP/97-27 (CJK-DOCP/96-11 and CJK-DOCP/96-12), and instructs Prof. C. C. Hsieh and Prof. Lehmen to edit them to be structured in the form of CJK Recommendation.

Resolution 11. Style of CJK multilingual documents

CJK DOCP instructs all the members to provide their requirements and examples for styles of CJK multilingual documents to Mr. Y. Okui, so that he may edit CJK DOCP/97-17 to be a CJK Recommendation on the style of CJK multilingual documents.

Resolution 12. Extension to CJK document interchange

CJK DOCP acknowledges the need and importance of handling missing characters in electronic document exchange. Prof. Ju's specification for electronic form exchange and rendering, and Prof. Hsieh's mechanism for treating missing characters provides a foundation for further research and application in the multilingual area. CJK DOCP instructs CJK DOCP project leader, Prof. Ju, to include these efforts into the subproject - Multilingual DTD, and make a report in the next CJK DOCP meeting.

Resolution 13. 11th meetings

The 11th CJK DOCP meeting will be held in Kyoto, Japan in Oct. 6-7, 1997. Dr. Y. Komachi and Mr. Y. Okui are requested to arrange the meeting.

Resolution 14. Thanks for hosting the meeting

CJK DOCP thanks Institute of Information Science, Academia Sinica and National Institute of Technology at Kaohsiung, hosting the meeting. Special thanks are due to Prof. C. C. Hsieh and Prof. S. M. Ju for handling arrangements and The Behavior Technology Corporation for making a donation to the meeting.
